It's official
Coachella has jumped the shark.
Yes, there are some good bands involved, and I'm sure it's still (maybe) worth the trek- if you live in CA, AZ, or NV. Compared to past years- Bauhaus, Pixies, BRMC, Bright Eyes, R.E.M., heelll--ooo-
Well, you know what they say about pictures:

Thanks mate! Always nice to drink with folks after, and before, and during a set. We'll be back on Jugheads on 6/14 if you're about.
Best,
BFN

Not claiming shark jumpage either. I'm with Sean...weakest evs, but I'm going because I can actually go this year.
It's still going to be fun, no matter what.
I so wish I lived in TN too...Bonnaroo's the new Coachella!

Ah, Chars...used to see Chuck Hall a lot there, fantastic place...
and it's true, smaller venues are the best if the bands pull through, agree 100%

Blah, I'm done with big venues. I've seen some great bands recently at tiny little places, where the artists are available for a drink afterward.
Some recent highlights:
The Kissers and Naked & Shameless were both great at Jugheads.
The Bad News Blues Band at Chars is always a great time.
I saw the January Taxi at the Owls Nest and was impressed.
Covers ranged from $5 up to a whopping $6. I'm going to have to be promised some pretty good lovin' to get me to go to a big venue show.
IMHO

Not ready to claim the shark jumpage yet, but this year is the weakest in the last 4. Still some interesting bands, and I do plan on making the trek. Have you seen the Bonaroo line-up??? Wow...if only it wasn't in Tennessee!
