I have no idea what this picture is of, but I've never seen creepier.  Dresden, maybe.

One slightly intoxicated happy hour, I was rambling on about a book that wasn't great but had a really cool sci-fi concept. I couldn't remember the name.

Turns out that it's #13 on the Top Twenty Starship Captains list, David Brin’s novel Startide Rising.
