Sadly a lot of readers probably do believe that Greenspan is capable of masterminding economic disaster, while in reality he's just a bumbling idiot tool. I may be the only one but I honestly believe the man when he said, in reference to the housing bubble, "I really didn't get it until very late in 2005 and 2006." Now if only he had told the rest of us how bad it was an not waited until 2007 to admit there would be double digit percentage drops in housing values. Hopefully he'll admit to his misunderstanding of the effects of sub-prime lending, but I fear he'll probably just lower interest rates again in a desperate attempt to keep the US economy from going completely in the shitter.

Things will not be getting any better before they get worse. As usually the republics leave office with a huge mess on their hands that someone is going to have to clean up, I can only pray (notice the irony) that it's not the libertarians. I might just vote Republican so they have to deal with the mess themselves.
