Just a good ol' boy...never meaning no harm...

I generally like all 3 Democratic front-runners, for completely different reasons- but I find this whole gang-up-on-the-broad tactic absolutely sickening. I like that she is hitting back, and that the responses have been weak. Edwards seems to, as usual, mean what he says without thinking much through it, but Obama is pure calculation. Perhaps my own weaker sex association that I find that essential in Hilary, but distasteful in the current point leader.

In the end, I'd still vote for Gore before any of these. We seem to still be in the 'voting for the lesser evil' space of the last election (ok, I would have voted for Dean with gusto, had it not been for the mighty yawp that felled).

And, for myself, there's no question of voting for anything other than a Democrat. The last thing I want to see is another 8 years of toothpick-premise wars which no one seems to blink at, while at the same time the most important thing on the home front is reduced to trivialities like preventing gays from marrying and making sure legal age women can no longer get birth control at the local Walgreen's because pseudo-doc has a misogynistic God-complex.

While no Communist, I wholly see the value in decoupling religion from law- mainly because the people pushing these laws have more in common with the torch-bearers chasing Frankenstein into the burning tower than any rational beings that should be allowed to vote. They drive and live by ignorance (heavy emphasis on) and fear, and this country has seen enough already of what can be stripped from them by marketing that fear and (deliberate) ignorance. The fact that the Jesus freaks (whether believing in Jesus I or Jesus II) are leading the other camp shows just how important this election really is. It's great to be grounded by spirituality, but to lead a campaign on it is terrifying. We might as well install an Ayatollah at that point (it's all the same God in the end that's written of, after all).

I'm all for supporting the idea of removing religion from politics but you have to realize that this would mean replacing belief with logic. Logically your two mentioned "home front" issues would not turn out the way you are hoping. Neither gay marriage or voluntary birth control are beneficial to a society. The reason that we have a governmentally acknowledge union of couples is because they produce offspring, and allow the society to grow. Population growth, or at minimum stability, is essential to the survival and advancement of a society. Same sex unions do not produce offspring. Allowing people to voluntarily chose birth control only means that the well educated and normally well to do will make that choice meaning population growth only in the under educated and underprivileged (you can all ready see this in the demographics of the Unites states).

I'm just saying beware what you ask for, you just might get it.

Personally I am against governmentally acknowledged unions and don't really give a rats ass about birth control issues (don't want to have kids, don't go around fucking, pretty simple solution), but on the other hand I do think it is a societies responsibility to make sure that those raising children are capable of doing so without other responsibility (mothers should get paid to be mothers).

The people didn't. I saw a poll stating 65% thought she was faking.

Jeff, even some her harshest critics admitted the emotions were legit.

Cold calculation. She learned that from her impeached hubby. Remember his fake cry at a funeral? When he thought he was off camera, he imediately started joking.

EVIL.

Hmmm, looks like it worked!

His tears are real.

Crying? Her voice broke talking about how much she believed in this country.

What's wrong with people- go on and on about how inhuman she is, then lambast her for showing emotion.

Pat Robertson cries more during his commercials.

Yeah, maybe they should lighten up. She started crying on the campaign trail today. I am SURE as President if she would only cry al-Qaeda would leave us alone.

She is pure evil.
