It peaked at 20K. That town wasn't there to begin with.

Movie parlors "lined" the streets? Can we have a little exaggeration with our hyperbole?
Don't worry, give it 10 years and a Mine Town Art Tour will revitalize it, and soon after that it'll be a suburb of Dallas :)

I had the same thoughts reading about the tornados- freaking tragic.

How odd that this article would appear today, and that as of tonight, Picher has been hit by a strong tornado that has killed at least 5 and caused massive damage. I assumed I would be reading about that event by clicking the link, and instead learned the town was already living under a death sentence.
